At 2:58 a.m. on the day of the incident, after receiving a call from a citizen, the Wangxin Fire Rescue Station of the Jiading District Fire Rescue Brigade rushed to the scene. The firefighters learned that there were two 14-year-old middle school students at the scene. One of the students had a conflict with his family, and the other student persuaded him to go out for a walk. After the two found that the outer wall door of the signal tower was not locked, they actually agreed to climb up the signal tower to talk.

After the two climbed up the signal tower, they were about 25 meters above the ground and the situation was very critical. After taking precautions and protective measures, the Wangxin Fire Rescue Station immediately used the thermal imaging function of the drone to locate the two trapped people. Afterwards, the two firefighters carefully climbed up the signal tower with safety belts and life-saving equipment, ready to rescue. They patiently put on safety equipment for the two trapped students. After about an hour of coordinated efforts, the firefighters safely transferred the two people to the ground one by one.
